DESCRIPTION:Join us for an Afrofuturism Dream Tank at the University Club\, that walks us creatively through the past and present with an eye toward the future using meditation\, virtual reality\, poetry\, and art culminating with a Dream Tank Dinner* and Discourse at Sunset. Please note: Afrofuturism is inclusive futurism and all who share in the desire for an inclusive and equitable future are welcome.\n\nThis is the 1st fundraiser for Grio'neers\, a new 501(c)3 nonprofit organization focused on engineering a better future through storytelling and action. C ome prepared to set and possibly share intentions for the coming year. Prior to the adoption of the Gregorian calendar\, many cultures considered the first day of Spring the beginning of the New Year.\n\nAfrofuturism Dream Tank is a framework for strategic planning created and first facilitated in San Diego\, CA by Dr. LaWana Richmond in 2018. Projects to be supported by this organization include Afrofuturism Lounge and Afro Con (the Afrofuturism Consciousness Convention).\n\nA frofuturism Art Exhibition and Silent Auction featuring Harp Angel - Robin Edmonds on Harp and art from Maxx Moses\, Kimberly Phillips Pea\, Tony Washington\, Ashley Nadeeka\, Brandon "Fubar" Flowers\, Jason "133 Art" Reeves\, Aubree Rose\, Toni Van Sluytman\, and just added - Zig Wharton.\n\n Artless' featuring reading by Winston Shaw\, GTET Media\n\nV R Experience: Traveling While Black\, Courtesy of Origami Air\n\nSunset Soundbath Meditation led by Faatima Harley\, Chocolate Yoga\n\nDestinations\n\nD ream Together - Dinner and Discourse led by Dr. Richmond\n\n*Menu options will include consideration of low sodium\, vegan\, and vegetarian dietary restrictions.\n\n*Dress Code at University Club - please come dressed to reflect yourself within the constraints of the club.
